We seek to engage our local community by building genuine relationships
with them and by meeting their needs through fundraising and outreach
projects. Whether it be through small
construction projects or help with school supplies, we hope to model God’s love
for more than just those who attend our services.

Operation Christmas Child: Several ways to get involved. 1) Pick up a box and follow the directions on the brochure inside. 2) Donate to WBC and put Shoeboxes in the memo. 3) Go online to Samaritan’s purse and purchase your box and supplies right on their website. WebKidz Shoebox Celebration is November 18 at 5:30 pm: Come and enjoy a special family night. We will have stations available for children to visit and learn about Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes. We will practice social distancing and wear masks at this event. Please bring your completed shoe box when you come. Last day to drop off shoeboxes will be November 22 at each service. If you can, please include $9 shipping in the box OR purchase shipping online and follow your box.3. Christmas Break Bags: United Christian Ministries gives bags of food to about 450 families in need over Christmas break. Our church is collecting 200 - 15 oz (“pop top” if available) cans of corn. Please do not donate larger sizes. We are also collecting reusable grocery bags to pack the food in. Cans are due on November 22.
4. Angel Tree Prison Ministry: This is a ministry to children of parents who are in prison. This year, we will provide the backpacks and you can shop for the child. If you would like to participate, please call the office at 828-586-4459. We will give you a name of a child and the wish list. You will shop and fill the backpack and then return it to the church by December 6. You can make donations to the church with Angel tree in the memo.
5. Lottie Moon Christmas Offering: Starting in 1888, the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering® was established to empower the international missions efforts for Southern Baptists. After more than a century, the annual offering continues its steady growth. Your giving enables missionaries from the International Mission Board to be sent to make disciples and multiply churches among unreached peoples and places for the glory of God. We will take donations on December 13. Please write checks to WBC with Lottie Moon in the memo or put cash in an envelope and label Lottie Moon.6. Annual Christmas Day Dinner Outreach is put on by the DeRico & Snodgrass families. We will start collecting money and food December 6. This is a community outreach to take a Christmas meal to those who are homebound, in nursing homes without family, and those in critical jobs having to work on Christmas Day. We also serve a meal in the Fellowship Hall for those who would like to share a meal here at church. We deliver over 300 meals and take gift bags to nursing home residents. How can you serve? 1) Donate extra large cans of vegetables and whole turkey or hams to the church. 2) Help prep and cook a couple of days before and /or on Christmas Day. 3)Sign up to deliver meals on Christmas Day. 4)Help with clean up after the Christmas Meal. 5) Make a donation by writing a check to WBC and put Christmas Day Meal in the memo or put cash in a labeled envelope.
